Airbus 321

Narrow Body, Short to Medium Range Jet

The Airbus A321 is a short to medium-range, narrow-body, single-aisle, twin-engine commercial jetliner built by Airbus. It is part of the Airbus 320 family, and one of the most common commercial aircraft in the skies today. The Airbus 320 family consists of the A319, A320 and A321. It is the largest of the A320 family — which gives it more seats, more cargo space, and a longer range. There is the older, 320ceo family, and modern 320neo family. CEO stands for Current Engine Option. The NEO is the New Engine Option, with quieter, more fuel-efficient engines, aerodynamic Sharklets (wingtip devices), and upgraded cabins.1

It has a fully digital fly-by-wire system which allows computer assisted flight control for smoother handling and greater precision. This is accomplished through advanced control laws and integration with autopilot and flight management systems. Fly-by-wire is a reassuring feature — it adds a layer of protection that makes the aircraft more predictable and harder to mishandle.1 Powered by two CFM International LEAP-1A or Pratt & Whitney GTF (neo) turbofan engines, each producing up to 32,000 lbs of thrust (LEAP-1A) or up to 35,000 lbs of thrust (GTF). Normal cruise speed is 570 mph (495 kts).1

Inside it offers the widest single-aisle cabin, the largest single-aisle overhead luggage bins, full LED mood lighting and advanced inflight entertainment systems.1

We have flown the A320 and A321neo more times than we can remember, both in the United States and Europe. A very comfortable plane to connect to our long-haul flight or flight home. The overhead bin space is quite large for a smaller plane.
