Wide Body, Long Range Jet

The Airbus A350 is a wide-body, twin-aisle, twin-engine long-haul aircraft made by Airbus, the European aircraft manufacturer. It has become one of the most popular aircraft for transatlantic and long-haul international routes.1

It has a fully digital fly-by-wire system which allows computer assisted flight control for smoother handling and greater precision. This is accomplished through advanced control laws and integration with autopilot and flight management systems. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB turbofan engines, each producing up to 84,000 lbs of thrust. Normal cruise speed is 560-575 mph (488-500 kts).1

Inside it offers a spacious cabin, wide seats, more overhead luggage space, larger windows, higher pressurization and humidity levels, full LED mood lighting and advanced inflight entertainment systems.1

There are two types of A350s.1

  • The A350-900 seats up to 350 passengers with a range of 8,500nm (15,742km) .
  • The A350-1000 seats up to 410 passengers with a range of 9,100nm (16,853km).

The carriers that fly the most A350s are:2

  • One World Alliance: Cathay Pacific, Fiji Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas and Qatar Airways.
  • Sky Team Alliance: Air France, China Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air.
  • Star Alliance: Air China, Asiana Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, EVA Air, Lufthansa, Scandinavia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Thai Airways and United Airlines.
  • Other: Emirates, Etihad Airways, Philippine Airlines, Vietnam Airlines and Virgin Atlantic.

  • This is the layout of a Delta A350-900 (306 passengers).4
  • Delta One is a 1-2-1 seating.
  • Premium Select is a 2-4-2 seating.
  • Economy Comfort and Main is a 3-3-3 seating.
